Traumas of the past can be
lodged and held in the body; there are varying models available to
explain how this happens. The models we choose to use affect the
way we apply SI when working with clients. We will look at two models;
Roger Woolger's Deep Memory Process, a body oriented past and present
life regression therapy, and Karlton Terry's Pre and Perinatal
Education which examines how our very early experiences are carried as
patterns throughout life.
In this workshop:
- We will show how these concepts can create a framework for understanding trauma and it's release.
- Create a foundation for greater compassion in our work.
- Develop an ear for hearing "the story" which is part of the release that brings change.
Deep Memory
Process is a form of regression therapy that places emphasis on the body
and the body's ability to hold memories. Allowing the body to complete
and release the unfinished past actions is core to the process.
We explore the importance of "the story" and how it evokes change. We will look at how this knowledge may change how we listen to and work with our clients.
Pre &
Perinatal Education is based on the premise that somatic and
psychological imprints from conception, gestation, and birth, create
templates for structural, behavioral, and relational patterns that
persist throughout our life. By understanding the origins of
these deep patterns, they can be released with ease and empathy.
In this workshop, we will gain an overview of Pre & Perinatal
Education, and explore our birth process in more depth. We will
also discuss specific patterns and body areas that typically hold the
shock and trauma of our fetal life. As these patterns
unwind in ourselves, we gain insight to accurately see them in our
clients, making our SI work that much more effective.
We will explore the theory and practice behind these models and how
they might be integrated into and shape our views of SI. Two valuable things that I hope you will get out this workshop are 1) a new level of compassion for yourself and your clients, and 2) learning the value of "the story," the way the trauma is released from the body.
